Gunmen kidnapped a nursing mother and a Plateau lawmaker as a military court jailed three soldiers for life and one for 15 years for selling arms to terrorists.

Gunmen have abducted two women in Nasarawa State, including a nursing mother, and demanded N50 million ransom for their release, family sources said Tuesday. “The pastor’s wife who was kidnapped, alongside a member of her church, is a breast feeding mother of a three-month old baby, currently traumatized under her captors,” the source told Vanguard, adding she pleaded in a call, “my baby, my baby, please who will help me out of this calamity?” Police spokesman Ramhan Nansel could not be reached for comment.

Separately, Plateau State lawmaker Laven Jacob was seized Monday night outside his Jos North residence. Police spokesman Alfred Alabo confirmed: “Unknown hoodlums intercepted Danti Laven Jacob while driving into his house at about 08:00 pm and abducted [him] to an unknown destination.”

Meanwhile, a Nigerian Army special court-martial sentenced Sergeants Raphael Ameh and Ejiga Musa, and Lance Corporal Patrick Ocheje to life imprisonment for selling arms to terrorists, while Corporal Omitoye Rufus received 15 years, citing “a betrayal of trust, discipline and honour.”
