Tributes have poured in for the late business mogul, described as a socialite and gentleman.

Nigerian business mogul and chairman of the Ibru Organisation, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, has died at the age of 67 after a brief illness.

A family source confirmed his death to Arise News on Wednesday but declined to provide further details. His passing comes less than a decade after the death of the family patriarch, Olorogun Michael Ibru, in 2016. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.

Veteran journalist and Ovation International publisher, Dele Momodu, paid tribute to Ibru in an Instagram post, describing him as “an extremely friendly gentleman, and a socialite per excellence, who was loved so passionately by families and friends.”

Oskar Ibru played a central role in sustaining and expanding the Ibru Organisation, a conglomerate spanning shipping, oil and gas, real estate, and commerce. He remained one of the most prominent heirs of the Ibru dynasty and a notable figure in Nigeria’s corporate landscape.
