A 29-year-old sniper killed two migrants and wounded others in a politically motivated shooting outside a Dallas ICE facility before taking his own life.
Authorities have identified the gunman who killed two migrants and injured several others in a shooting outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday morning.
The shooter, named as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, opened fire shortly after 7 a.m. from the rooftop of a building adjacent to the detention center, targeting migrants inside an unmarked ICE transport van before turning the gun on himself. Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin confirmed two fatalities and one victim in critical condition, adding that no law enforcement officers were hurt.
Officials said bullets recovered at the scene were engraved with “anti-ICE messages.” FBI Director Kash Patel stated: “While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an ideological motive behind this attack. These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off.”
Jahn’s body was discovered on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office, according to WFAA.
