Pastor Isaac Anderson’s iPhone was stolen mid-sermon during a Facebook Live broadcast in London, exposing the city’s surge in phone snatching.
A Ghanaian pastor, Isaac Anderson, was robbed of his phone while conducting a Facebook Live prayer session in London, the Daily Mail UK reports.
The incident happened at 6:30am Thursday on Hoe Street, Walthamstow, when two balaclava-clad cyclists rode past the preacher mid-sermon, then circled back to snatch his iPhone 16 Pro Max. A bus driver tried to warn Anderson with repeated horn blasts, but he continued preaching, unaware of the danger.
Unbeknownst to the thieves, the phone was still live. One was heard saying: “Hey JP, he’s on TikTok… How do I end it? It’s on Facebook.” His accomplice muttered: “Oh s**,” before covering his face.
Speaking later online, Anderson said: “All of the sudden, someone from behind on a bike just came and snatched my phone… You have to be very careful… thieves, burglars and robbers are everywhere. This is London.”
The theft comes amid rising phone snatchings in the capital, with police ramping up enforcement.
