Tinubu told Nigerians at Oba Ladoja’s coronation that economic hardship is over, declaring the country has “turned a corner” toward growth and prosperity.
President Bola Tinubu on Friday declared that Nigeria’s economic hardship is over, assuring citizens that the nation has “turned a corner” toward recovery. He made the remarks at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, during the coronation of Oba Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Addressing the crowd, Tinubu said: “Kabiyesi, happy birthday to you once again. Today, I am honoured and feel very proud to give you the cheering news that the economy has turned a corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Your suffering has been as painful to us as a painful surgery. But the economy has now returned to a moment of growth and prosperity. Thank you for your perseverance, and thank you for your endurance.”
The President also recalled Ibadan’s support for his presidential bid, referencing his famous “Emi lo’kan” slogan. The coronation drew thousands, marking Ladoja as the first former governor to ascend the Olubadan throne.
