Police clarify tinted glass permit enforcement still active — FCT spokesperson

FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh says reports claiming the suspension of the tinted glass permit enforcement are inaccurate.

The Nigeria Police Force has not suspended the enforcement of the vehicle tinted glass permit, the spokesperson for the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, clarified on Wednesday.

Reports had suggested the policy was on hold following an interim injunction by the Federal High Court in Warri, restraining the Inspector General of Police and the Force from enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit Policy pending further hearings.

However, Adeh told The Guardian that her comments were misrepresented by sections of the media.

“They sent me questions, but asked me different things and started quoting me wrongly,” she said. “The Force Public Relations Officer tweeted last week that the police were yet to be served a copy of the judgment, and I said that was then and that the police have been served. I didn’t mention that it has been suspended.”

Adeh maintained that the policy remains in force, describing it as “purely security-driven.”
