A Canadian national was found dead in a Lagos hotel room, with police ruling out foul play pending autopsy results.
A Canadian national identified only as Sullivan was discovered dead in his hotel room on Victoria Island, Lagos State, in the early hours of October 7.
Hotel staff disclosed that Sullivan checked in on October 2 but was found lifeless days later. “The Chief Security Officer of the hotel reported the incident to the Victoria Island Police Division around 4:30p.m., after efforts to reach the guest failed,” a hotel attendant told Vanguard on condition of anonymity.
Police detectives who examined the scene reported no visible marks of violence, suggesting no immediate signs of foul play.
The body was evacuated to Lagos Island General Hospital, where a medical officer confirmed Sullivan’s death. His remains were deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
