Peter Obi has confirmed his 2027 presidential ambition, asserting that he can transform Nigeria’s fortunes within four years if elected.
Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has declared that he can “change the trajectory of Nigeria to a positive one” within four years if elected president in 2027.
Obi made this known during an interview with journalists on Wednesday, confirming that he would be on the ballot for the next general election.
“I am contesting, and I am sure I will be on the ballot. People will have to look at who is competing, who has the capacity, who has everything,” he said during a Channels TV broadcast.
The former Anambra State governor said he remains confident in his ability to deliver good governance and urged Nigerians to prioritise competence in their voting decisions.
“I think I am qualified; I have the capacity to do the job. I will say it over and over again that, in four years, I can change the trajectory of Nigeria to a positive one,” he reiterated.
Obi added that he remains a member of the Labour Party while collaborating with other opposition leaders to “rescue the country from bad leadership,” stressing that the nation’s focus should shift from political manoeuvring to addressing widespread poverty.
