FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has said responsible citizens engage government constructively instead of resorting to social media attacks, taking aim at Peter Obi for politicizing governance.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said good citizens are those who engage government constructively rather than criticize on social media for political gain.
Speaking at the commissioning of the reconstructed Ken Udezue Street in Abuja, Wike said: “It is the responsibility of good citizens to call the attention of government to issues, not to go on social media and begin to say, ‘they said they have done this and that.’”
He credited the road’s rehabilitation to a complaint raised by lawyer Damian Dodo (SAN), describing him as a model citizen.
Wike also fired back at Labour Party’s Peter Obi for alleging neglect of public schools in the FCT. “Mr. Obi, you were governor for eight years. If you had finished all projects, nobody would be talking about development today,” he said.
He praised President Tinubu’s swift approvals for FCT projects, saying his administration’s actions reflect the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
