Actress Martins’ clash with KAI officials in Lekki has sparked controversy after she received N20 million from Seyi Tinubu’s associates, though Seyi denied being the direct donor.
The controversy began when actress Martins accused officials of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) unit of harassing her during a charity outreach in Lekki, Lagos. She alleged they confiscated food items and cooking equipment she used to serve free meals to the needy.
The Lagos State Government defended the officials, stating Martins violated environmental and safety rules by cooking on a public road median.
Days later, Martins announced she received a N20 million donation, thanking Seyi Tinubu and the Noella Foundation. However, Seyi denied being the donor, clarifying that his friends raised the funds to help her find a suitable location.
A viral video, however, showed NDPHC MD Chinedu Adighije presenting Martins with cash, saying, “Seyi asked me to give this to you.” Martins tearfully thanked Seyi, saying, “God bless you, Mr. Seyi Tinubu, sir. This means a lot.”
