Kingsley Ibeh has declared he would “definitely stop” Anthony Joshua in a proposed fight in Nigeria, asserting he is the ideal opponent and is prepared to fight anywhere, anytime.

Heavyweight contender Kingsley Ibeh has vowed to “definitely stop” former champion Anthony Joshua should the two meet, expressing confidence that he is the perfect opponent for a headline fight in Nigeria. Ibeh, who holds a 16-2-1 record with 14 stoppage victories, said staging the fight on home soil would be a “dream come true.”

Ibeh, now based in Arizona, noted that it “doesn’t matter where it is, I’m ready. Anywhere.” He added: “I would definitely stop him, no questions about that, it’s going to come down to how soon or how quickly it goes.” He also expressed admiration for Joshua, saying, “I like AJ, he’s been my idol,” but made clear his intentions are fierce: “(But) I have mean intentions.”

A cousin of former heavyweight Ike Ibeabuchi, Ibeh revealed his unconventional path into boxing started while trying to sell life insurance to a gym coach. “I never back down from a fight,” he reflected, describing how he landed in the ring and began knocking out sparring partners.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has indicated there is a “small chance” Joshua could fight before year’s end, though any 2025 bout would likely be a “pure run-out,” and a more significant clash would come in early 2026.
