Nduka Obaigbena has dismissed as false and baseless reports alleging he fled Nigeria to avoid a $225 million loan investigation.
Publisher of THISDAY Newspapers and Chairman of Arise News Channel, Nduka Obaigbena, has denied reports claiming he fled Nigeria to evade investigation over an alleged $225 million loan scandal.
The online report, which circulated across several social media platforms, alleged that the media executive had gone on self-exile in the United Kingdom following a purported manhunt by security agencies.
In a swift response, Arise News dismissed the claims through its official X handle, describing the report as “FAKE NEWS.”
No official statement from law enforcement agencies or credible sources has confirmed the existence of any investigation or manhunt related to Obaigbena. The media mogul remains active in Nigeria’s media and business landscape, with Arise News continuing regular broadcast operations.
