Activist Omoyele Sowore, lawyer Aloy Ejimakor, and 11 other #FreeNnamdiKanu protesters arrested this week in Abuja were granted bail by a magistrate court, each on the condition of a “sum of N500,000” and other stringent requirements.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, who was arrested Thursday after leading a #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, has been granted bail by a magistrate court in Abuja.

Also granted bail were Aloy Ejimakor, a disengaged counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, and 11 other individuals who were arrested at various locations on Monday for “inciting public disturbance” during the demonstrations.
Magistrate Abubakar Umar Sai’I’d granted the 13 defendants bail with a sum of “N500,000 each.”
As part of the conditions, the magistrate ordered the defendants to present a verified National Identification Number (NIN), submit three-year tax clearance certificates, and surrender their passports. Sowore was arrested near the Federal High Court premises for leading the protest to “restricted areas” in the city centre. The bail clears the path for the immediate release of the protesters.
