Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has dismissed claims that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is behind the ongoing turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the crisis as self-inflicted.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its internal crisis, saying it is self-inflicted and not influenced by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Wike said, “Now, there is not even any attempt by any government to try to pull the party down, you are the one, on your own, destroying the party.”
He dismissed allegations of APC interference and urged PDP members to “put their house in order.” Wike also criticised the conduct of the PDP convention, saying he would not attend one “laden with illegalities.”
Addressing his inclusion as a witness in the trial of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, Wike said, “I did not go to say I want to be a witness… nobody has subpoenaed me.”
He added that he would appear in court only if officially summoned.
