Netizens have condemned the Lagos State Government for partnering with business influencer Nelly Agbogu, who once criticised President Bola Tinubu, for an upcoming trade fair in Ikeja.
Netizens have expressed outrage after the Lagos State Government partnered with business influencer Nelly Agbogu, known as Naija Brand Chick, for the mainland edition of the Lagos Tourism Trade Fair.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is set to hold from October 24 to 26 at the Whitestone Event Centre, Ikeja.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, said the fair reflects the government’s effort to grow a people-driven creative economy across Lagos.
However, online users faulted the partnership, resurfacing a 2023 post in which Agbogu wrote, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu is physically and mentally unfit to be a presidential candidate.”
They accused the state of “rewarding critics while ignoring loyalists,” arguing that such actions show why Tinubu lost Lagos in the last election.
X users described the move as “a poor reward system” and “proof that the government has lost touch with its political base.”
