Six House of Representatives members from the PDP and LP defected to the APC, citing internal party crises and division as their reason, with the move witnessed by the Governor of Enugu State and the APC National Chairman.
Six members of the House of Representatives, five from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State and one from the Labour Party (LP) in Plateau State, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defecting PDP members from Enugu are Okei Martins, Anayo Onwugbu, Danis Nnamdi, Chidi Obetta, and Nnolim Nnaji. The Labour Party defector is Daniel Asama, representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency.
The lawmakers formally announced their change of allegiance in the Green Chamber, citing the “crises and division in the PDP” among the reasons for their departure. The defection was witnessed by Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and the National Chairman of APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
