Minister Mohammed Idris says President Tinubu remains calm and committed to national unity and security, engaging global and religious leaders to counter divisive narratives.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Tinubu remains calm and focused on strengthening national security and fostering unity amid international concerns about Nigeria’s internal situation.
Speaking with journalists after meeting the President at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday, Idris said issues surrounding recent comments from the United States featured prominently in their discussions.
He said, “It’s a routine meeting that we always have with Mr. President as Minister of Information… the issue of the US also came up, and we discussed that extensively.”
According to him, Tinubu is “calm and looking at the whole situation,” while expanding diplomatic channels to clarify Nigeria’s position to global partners. He added that the President continues to engage religious and community leaders to promote harmony.
“This is a time for us to reflect on our unity and come together… It’s not a time for division,” Idris stressed.
