President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria will emerge stronger despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats, adding that the government is addressing the issue through calm, coordinated diplomacy.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria will emerge stronger despite recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated the President’s position after a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, explaining that Tinubu remained calm and focused on diplomatic engagement rather than confrontation.

“Mr President is calm and taking the issue seriously. All relevant authorities are addressing it with the depth it requires, and we believe Nigeria will come out stronger,” Idris said.

He added that communication channels had been opened with international partners to clarify Nigeria’s security reforms and religious tolerance efforts.

Idris noted that Tinubu has been meeting with religious leaders across faiths, reaffirming that “for us to be characterised as a country intolerant of religion is absolutely false.”

Trump had earlier threatened to cut aid and launch attacks against Nigeria over alleged anti-Christian violence.
