According to GUARDIAN reporting, Cristiano Ronaldo has indicated that his retirement from professional football will arrive “soon”, signalling the end of a glittering career. The 40-year-old Portuguese star, who has amassed 952 goals and now plays for Al Nassr, told an interviewer on Piers Morgan Uncensored that he has been preparing for the transition since his mid-20s. “Soon. But I think I will be prepared,” he said. He admitted that stepping away will be emotionally challenging: “It will be tough, of course. It will be difficult? Yes. Probably will cry, yes. I’m an open person.”

Ronaldo emphasised that “nothing will be able to compare that the adrenaline that we have for football to score a goal,” noting that “everything has a beginning, and everything has an end.” He stated he looks forward to spending more time with his family and nurturing other passions beyond the pitch: “I’m going to have more time for me, I’m going to have more time for my family to raise my kids.” The star also said his off-field interests include enjoying padel with friends, illustrating a readiness to embrace life after football.
