‘Defeat the terrorists in 90 days or resign’ — Adeboye to Tinubu

“This is not the time to joke. … Innocent people are dying.”

According to reporting by Tribune Online, Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged President Bola Tinubu to instruct the service chiefs to defeat terrorists within 90 days — or resign.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City campground, Adeboye said the government must “move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely” to address Nigeria’s security challenges.
He declared: “Find a way to … tell our service chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”

Adeboye recalled that a similar directive by former President Muhammadu Buhari, which ordered service chiefs to “get rid of these Boko Haram people or resign,” was not followed through.
He also emphasised that any fresh order should include targeting financiers and backers of terrorism, saying: “they are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also eliminate the sponsors, no matter how influential they may be.”

He warned that foreign powers would not rescue Nigeria if conflict escalated, noting that “When I say our leaders should move diplomatically … no foreign nation would come to its rescue if conflict escalates.”
Adeboye said the country must now shift beyond debate to decisive action, stating: “This is not the time to joke. … Innocent people are dying.”
