The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, has urged President Bola Tinubu to place his trust in God rather than fear external powers, including U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, has counselled President Bola Tinubu not to be swayed by external forces such as U.S. President Donald Trump, according to local reporting. Speaking on Sunday evening after the annual Olodumare festival in Iwo, the monarch emphasized the importance of faith in God for leadership and national security.

“You will be successful if you give all glory to God Almighty. You need to give more glory to God than you have been doing. If we can all return to God, there is nothing to fear,” Oba Akanbi said. He added, “There is no reason to fear Trump. If you submit your concerns to God, who created all, including Trump, there is no reason for fear. Iwo has remained untouched by war due to its community’s steadfast devotion to God.”

Highlighting Nigeria’s role in Africa, he said, “Tinubu should not fear any nuclear power, we don’t fear any war or Trump himself.” The monarch also called on traditional rulers to honour God above all, noting that Yoruba palaces belong to God and kings are appointed by Him. Oba Akanbi concluded, “I am a king chosen by God to champion this prayer against generational curses.”
