Fayose directs Ekiti State Government to manage his burial within four weeks, forbidding visits to his gravesite afterward.
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has instructed that his body be buried within four weeks of his death, with the Ekiti State Government handling all arrangements. He also requested that nobody visit his gravesite after burial.
In a six-minute video released by City Edge TV on Saturday, coinciding with his 65th birthday, Fayose said: “Death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti State government… I’m delivering a letter to the governor.” He emphasized that regardless of when he passes, the state government should oversee his remains, allowing four weeks for preparations.
Fayose added that his children should follow government directives during his funeral and that he should be laid to rest in his grandmother’s garden. At his birthday thanksgiving, musician King Sunny Ade performed while Fayose danced. Political figures, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, praised his contributions and leadership.
