Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has distanced himself from the PDP’s expulsion of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his supporters, warning that the move could deepen party divisions.
According to PEOPLE’S GAZETTE, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has publicly dissociated himself from the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) decision to expel FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, and other loyalists during its recent convention in Ibadan.
Fintiri criticized the expulsions, arguing that they are not in the party’s best interest and could further deepen internal crises. While the PDP leadership cited breaches of party rules, including parallel congresses and litigations against the party, Fintiri urged stakeholders to prioritize reconciliation, unity, and stability. The party also expelled key members of the Wike-led faction, including Mao Ohabunwa, Umar Bature, and several others, highlighting ongoing internal conflicts within the PDP.
