The FCT Police Command has denied reports that Lieutenant Ahmed Yarima, a naval officer, was targeted in an assassination attempt in Kubwa on Sunday evening, according to a report from VANGUARD.

The officer was reportedly being trailed by occupants of two unmarked Hilux vans while conducting escape maneuvers, according to military sources.

The Command wishes to categorically state that no such incident has been reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory.”

Adeh further urged the public to disregard the claims and refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause panic. “For the safety of all residents, the Command urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Division,” she added.

The report follows circulating accounts suggesting that Lt. Yarima was trailed from the NIPCO Station off the Kubwa Motorway to Gado Nasco Road.
