Mr Jollof has apologised publicly after a physical altercation with social media personality Very Dark Man during a commercial flight.
Nigerian comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has tendered a public apology following a physical altercation with social media commentator Very Dark Man (VDM) onboard a commercial aircraft. The incident occurred on a United Nigeria Airlines flight reportedly travelling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.
According to a report from VANGUARD, both men engaged in a heated confrontation that escalated into a physical fight inside the aircraft. A viral video circulating on social media showed the two exchanging punches while other passengers looked on.
Reacting to the situation, Mr Jollof released a video on his Instagram page in which he apologised to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), United Nigeria Airlines, and all passengers affected by the incident. He stressed that he is not a violent person and claimed he only acted in self-defence.
In his statement, he said, “I want to use this medium to sincerely apologise to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and the passengers that boarded the airline. I was only defending myself. You guys saw what happened, and I am very sorry if I delayed your appointment. Pardon me. This isn’t my kind of person. It will never happen again.”
He also apologised to his wife, children, and employer, adding, “To my lovely wife, I know you’re proud of me… Daddy will never do this again.”
