The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has threatened to withdraw the certificate of any of its alumni found culpable of misconduct.
At the 36th Convocation and Award of First Degrees, FUTA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adenike Oladiji cautioned the 2,747 graduates that the university reserves the right to withdraw certificates from any alumnus found guilty of misconduct. She urged graduates to turn economic challenges into opportunities through creativity and innovation, stressing that “no man can climb beyond the limits of his character” and that character, alongside skills, defines lasting success.
The ceremony celebrated 240 First Class graduates, with Aduragbemi Akindunbi of Civil Engineering emerging as the overall best graduating student with a CGPA of 4.98. Pro-Chancellor Prof. Nora Daduut commended initiatives like President Tinubu’s Students’ Loan Scheme, encouraged staff welfare, and urged graduates to become agents of positive societal change.
