Nicki Minaj teamed up with the Trump administration at a UN event to call for urgent action on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Rapper Nicki Minaj joined the Trump administration on Tuesday to demand global action against the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, according to a report from HUFFPOST. Speaking at a United Nations event, Minaj thanked President Trump “for prioritizing this issue and for his leadership on the global stage,” saying Christians in Nigeria face escalating violence for practicing their faith.

“Today, faith is under attack in way too many places,” she said. “In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray.”

President Donald Trump has previously described the situation as an “existential threat” and has threatened military action. However, experts have argued the crisis is more complex, noting that both Christians and Muslims have suffered attacks from extremist groups.

Minaj also addressed her fanbase, saying, “Barbz, I know you’re somewhere listening. I love you so very much… this isn’t about taking sides. This is about standing up in the face of injustice.”

Her remarks follow an earlier post on X where she wrote, “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion,” alongside a screenshot of Trump’s statement on the issue. Trump’s UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, later said Minaj’s appearance came after she publicly responded to the president’s comments.
