Justice James Omotosho has sentenced IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment after convicting him on seven terrorism-related charges.

In a landmark ruling, Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment following his conviction on all seven counts of terrorism.

The verdict comes after a lengthy trial spanning about ten years, including Kanu’s controversial arrest in Kenya and extradition to Nigeria. The court found sufficient evidence that Kanu had engaged in activities amounting to terrorism, despite his earlier plea of not guilty.
