Atiku Abubakar urged President Tinubu to immediately declare a state of emergency on insecurity, reacting to the Niger school abductions and insisting that “decisive action” is overdue.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently declare a state of emergency on Nigeria’s worsening security situation. Reacting to the abduction of over 50 students and staff from St. Mary Secondary School in Niger State, Atiku described the incident as “heartbreaking” and questioned why the government has not taken stronger action.

In a statement posted on Facebook, he wrote, “Not again. This is truly heartbreaking. How many more lives must be shattered before decisive action is taken? According to him, the latest attack underscores the need for urgent and decisive steps to protect Nigerians.
