The Ogun State Police Command has debunked a viral video claiming herdsmen planned an attack in Ajebo, saying operatives found the Fulani settlers “not hostile migrants but long-standing residents” with no weapons or suspicious activity.

The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed a viral social media video suggesting herdsmen were preparing an attack in Ajebo, stating that a tactical team led by senior officers and accompanied by Amotekun, So-Safe Corps, local hunters, and other security groups discovered that the Fulani settlers “are not hostile migrants but long-standing residents” living peacefully, with “no arms or suspicious activities detected.”

CSP Omolola Odutola added that the men were away in Oyo for trading, consistent with their routine, while an extended RUGA site was confirmed to have existed for over a decade.

The police also invited the local traditional ruler and Baale for clarification and assured the public that surveillance and proactive intelligence are ongoing, urging residents to stay calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
