U.S. President Donald Trump has set a November 27 deadline for Ukraine to accept a 28-point peace plan that Kyiv says is overly favorable to Russia.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he has set a deadline of November 27 for Ukraine to accept his administration’s proposed plan to end the country’s war with Russia, according to KOREA TIMES. Trump, speaking in an interview with Fox Radio, confirmed that he had given Kyiv until Thursday to consider the 28-point document, saying, “I’ve had a lot of deadlines, but if things are working well, you tend to extend the deadlines. But Thursday is, we think, an appropriate time.”

The plan would require Ukraine to relinquish a portion of its eastern territory to Russia, reduce the size of its military, and pledge never to join NATO. Western peacekeepers requested by Kyiv would not be deployed, though European warplanes would be stationed in Poland to provide protection.

Trump argued that prolonging the conflict would still result in Ukraine losing the territories in question, stating, “Say what you want, they were very brave,” in reference to Ukrainian forces. He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin “is not looking for more war” and is “taking punishment” for a conflict that “was supposed to be a one-day war.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the proposal on Friday, insisting he would not “betray” his country. The White House maintained it has discussed the plan equally with both Kyiv and Moscow.
