Second Lady Usha Vance has sparked renewed speculation about her marriage after appearing without her wedding ring during recent public engagements.
According to a report from the DAILY MAIL, Second Lady Usha Vance was seen without her wedding ring during an official engagement at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, weeks after Vice President JD Vance publicly discussed the religious differences in their marriage.
Photos from the visit on Wednesday show Usha, 39, disembarking from a plane with her left hand visible and her wedding band missing.
Additional images from Camp Lejeune and the Marine Corps Air Station New River indicated the ring remained off throughout the visit, while the Vice President was photographed wearing his ring during a speaking event in Washington the following day.
Speculation about a possible rift between the couple began in October after JD Vance gave a tight hug to Erika Kirk during a memorial event for her late husband, Charlie Kirk.
Online commentary intensified as images circulated, with one user joking that Usha was “Quiet Quitting her husband,” while another claimed “there were signs…”. Supporters, however, argued that many people simply do not wear their rings all the time.
A spokesperson told the Daily Mail that Usha “is a mother of three young children who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
The report also recalls JD Vance’s recent admission that he has encouraged his wife, who grew up in a non-religious Hindu household, to “believe in the Christian Gospel,” saying, “Yeah, I honestly do wish that… I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.”
