President Bola Tinubu says “nothing troubles me more gravely than the security crisis bedevilling Nigeria,” urging urgent action to restore unity, trust and safety, especially in the North.

President Bola Tinubu has described insecurity as the most distressing challenge facing Nigeria, stating that “nothing troubles me more gravely than the security crisis bedevilling Nigeria, especially Northern Nigeria.”

Represented by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at the Arewa Consultative Forum’s 25th Anniversary in Kaduna, Tinubu said the nation “cannot prosper when one limb of the national body is paralysed,” noting that his administration inherited complex threats but is tackling them with “urgency and determination.”

He affirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorist and bandit groups, reversing the North’s economic decline, and accelerating key infrastructure like the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Superhighway.

Tinubu urged Northern leaders to speak boldly in defence of vulnerable communities, warning, “We fail the day we sleep comfortably while millions sleep with empty bellies.” He praised the ACF’s 25 years of advocacy and called for renewed unity to secure Nigeria’s future.
