Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has agreed to join Mexican club Pumas UNAM, according to reports from PA Media. If finalized, the deal would make the former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder the first high-profile British player in Liga MX history.
Ramsey, 34, recently served as interim manager of Cardiff City for the final three games of the 2024-25 Championship season following Omer Riza’s dismissal. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t prevent the club’s relegation to League One, though he had been linked with the permanent managerial role.
His move to Pumas reunites him with agent Efraín Juárez, the club’s current manager. The transfer marks a bold new chapter for Ramsey, who could soon be plying his trade in Mexico’s top flight.
