A 60-year-old woman has successfully delivered babies at the Afe Babalola University Multi-System Hospital (ABUAD) in Ado-Ekiti, marking a major medical breakthrough in advanced fertility treatment.

Director of Corporate Affairs, Tunde Olofintila, confirmed the delivery in a statement, attributing the feat to cutting-edge reproductive technology and intensive antenatal care at the hospital’s Fertility Centre.

Chief Medical Director, Dr. Akinola Akinmade, praised the teamwork that ensured the safe outcome, noting that collaboration with Olive Hospital was pivotal. “This achievement highlights how modern fertility treatment and quality obstetric services can deliver positive outcomes even in high-risk pregnancies,” he said.

Dr. Akinmade added that the facility, established in 2017, has developed a reputation for handling complex procedures, including kidney transplants, open-heart surgeries, and neurosurgical operations.

ABUAD founder, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, described the success as proof that Nigerians could access world-class healthcare locally. “The delivery is not just a victory for the patient, but for Nigeria’s health system,” he said.
