Labour Party has accused “anti-democratic elements” of sponsoring the assault on its National Chairman, Julius Abure, at Abuja airport.
The Labour Party has accused “anti-democratic elements” of masterminding the attack on its National Chairman, Julius Abure, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
In a statement on Saturday, party spokesperson Obiora Ifoh said Abure was standing in line to board a Max Air flight to Benin on Friday when he was suddenly attacked by a woman identified as Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P.
“The attacker, Madam P, who is also a known content creator, continued the attack all throughout the flight, defying all attempts by the Max Air flight attendants to calm her,” Ifoh said.
The assault reportedly persisted after landing in Benin, before security operatives intervened.
The party expressed outrage over a video where the woman boasted of her “high-level police contacts” and vowed to continue harassing Abure.
“We believe she was on assignment for her paymasters,” Ifoh alleged, urging police to investigate while calling on supporters to remain calm.
