The Labour Party has demanded a police investigation after its National Chairman, Julius Abure, was allegedly assaulted by a woman identified as ‘Mama P’ at the Abuja airport.

The Julius Abure-led Labour Party faction has raised alarm over an alleged assault on its National Chairman, Julius Abure, by Ms. Precious Oruche, also known as ‘Mama P,’ said to be a member of the Obidient movement.

National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in a statement on Saturday, said Abure was accosted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport while boarding a Max Air flight to Benin. “The attacker, Madam P, who is also a known content creator, continued the attack through the duration of the flight, defying all attempts by the Max Air flight attendants to calm her,” he alleged.

Ifoh added that the assault continued at Benin Airport before security operatives intervened. The party accused Oruche of boasting about her connections with senior police officers and vowed not to relent in attacking LP leaders.

The party urged the Inspector General of Police to investigate the incident and prosecute those behind it.
