There were those fighting for ‘Mohammed Sani’ (Abacha) to get a cut from the Malabu windfall
Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, has alleged that former President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, and several NGOs formed a “cruel coalition” that conspired against him in the OPL 245 Malabu oil block saga.
In his upcoming book titled OPL 245: The Inside Story of the $1.3 Billion Nigerian Oil Block, Adoke claims Buhari pursued him for refusing to secure funds for “Mohammed Sani” (Abacha). He says Osinbajo used the case to showcase his legal expertise, while Malami aimed to discredit him due to past associations with the Abacha family.
Adoke also accuses international NGOs of pursuing the case for grants and recognition, labeling the coalition as “gold diggers, glory hunters and avengers.” He describes a grand conspiracy that began in Abuja in 2015 and spread to Italy.
Cleared by courts in Nigeria, the UK, the US, and Italy, Adoke says his book sets out to end the years-long saga.
