Adron homes cuts electricity to Ogun estate residents amid court dispute

They gave everyone seven days to pay the service charge, saying they would reconnect some services, which include power.

Adron Homes & Properties Limited has disconnected electricity supply to 21 residents of the City of David Estate in Simawa, Ogun State, after they sued the developer over estate governance. The affected homeowners had filed suit, alleging that the company “imposed” a facility manager and demanded a N250,000 annual service charge without providing any corresponding services.

Despite a January court order directing both parties to maintain the status quo, residents claim Adron Homes disconnected their power supply in early May for refusing to pay the disputed levy. In one statement, a resident said:

“How can they be demanding a service charge when there is no service they are providing? We cannot be paying that and not get value for the payment.”

Another resident noted that the firm “gave everyone seven days to pay the service charge. They would reconnect some services, which include power.”

Adron Homes has not responded to repeated inquiries. The residents’ association urges the developer to restore power pending resolution of the legal dispute.
