The lifetime flight ban placed on Comfort Emmanson has been lifted following an appeal by the Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo.
The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has lifted the lifetime flight ban placed on Comfort Emmanson, an Ibom Air passenger previously sanctioned for unruly conduct. AON spokesperson, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, said on Thursday the decision followed an appeal from the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
He noted factors such as Emmanson’s remorse, withdrawal of the complaint, dismissal of charges, and her release from custody. Okonkwo commended the Federal Government for introducing a retreat to retrain aviation security and airline crew, and urged aviation agencies to increase public awareness of legal consequences for unruly behaviour under the Civil Aviation Act and Regulations.
