Akpabio predicts end of political parties by 2027

Senate President Akpabio said no political parties will exist in Akwa Ibom by 2027, urging unified support for himself and Governor Umo Eno.

The Senate President, Godwill Akpabio, declared on Friday in Akwa Ibom State that there will be no political parties in the state by the 2027 general election, describing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “torn into shreds” and unable to protect its members. Speaking at an empowerment event in Ikot Ekpene, where 1,690 people received items including minibuses and cassava processing machines, Akpabio said, “All political parties have collapsed to vote for Senator Godswill Akpabio… for governor, all parties have agreed to vote for Governor Umo Eno.”

He praised Governor Umo Eno as “a man of peace” and “a man of God,” emphasizing unity across the state. Akpabio also thanked his wife, Unoma, for her ongoing empowerment initiatives, saying, “Hunger has no political party.”

The event marked the start of 68 community projects lined up for commissioning in his constituency.
