The Ekiti State Government has issued a travel advisory urging motorists to use designated alternative routes as rehabilitation works continue on major highways across the state.
In a statement released on its official website and X page on Saturday, the government assured residents and visitors that ongoing road projects by the Federal and Ekiti State governments would soon deliver lasting improvements.
“Travelers are advised to make use of alternative routes for a smoother and stress-free journey into Ado Ekiti. Whether you are coming from Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, or Abuja, these alternative routes have been mapped out to ease your travel experience while road works progress,” the advisory stated.
According to the directive, travellers from Lagos or Ibadan are advised to take Iwaraja → Efon → Ipole → Ikogosi → Erijinyan → Ilawe → Ado Ekiti. From Akure, motorists should follow Akure → Igbara-Oke → Igbara-Odo → Ilawe → Ado Ekiti. Abuja-bound drivers are directed through Kabba → Irun-Akoko → Iro-Ekiti → Isinbode → Ikole → Igbemo → Ekiti Ring Road → Ado Ekiti.
The government emphasized that the diversions were temporary, adding: “This initiative is designed to make your journey into Ado Ekiti smoother and stress-free.”
