Ruben Amorim has recalled Harry Maguire and Casemiro to Manchester United’s starting XI as the Reds take on Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim has named his Manchester United side to take on Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The boss has made two changes to the team that was beaten 3-0 in last Sunday’s Manchester derby against City at the Etihad Stadium.
Harry Maguire, who made his 250th United appearance last time out, comes into the defence in place of Leny Yoro.
Casemiro returns in midfield to partner captain Bruno Fernandes as Manuel Ugarte, like Yoro, moves to the substitutes’ bench.
Explaining Harry’s inclusion in the line-up, Ruben told Sky Sports: “I think his ability to defend the box. I think, in this moment, we need experience, also he can give us that. We always try to put our best XI against different opponents and Maguire is in the team today.”

Also among the back-up brigade are fit-again pair Mason Mount – who could face his former club – and Matheus Cunha, after the attacking duo missed the derby through injury.
Ruben added: “We cannot risk players and then we have other players. If you’re seeing that our focus and the way we play in both boxes is the thing we need to change also, to show the players not to change the players all the time. To believe in what we are doing and are capable of doing with that, with all the players in the squad. When you return from injury, you have to be careful with Matheus and Mason. We cannot lose them for many games.”
Altay Bayindir continues in goal, with new signing Semme Lammens on the bench, while Maguire is joined in the back three by Matthijs De Ligt and Luke Shaw.
Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu are the wing-backs, with Amad and Bryan Mbeumo occupying the no.10 positions behind Benjamin Sesko – who is making his first home Premier League start in attack.
