Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim says Bruno Fernandes wants to stay despite interest from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal. “He wants to win,” said Amorim.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim believes Bruno Fernandes wants to remain at the club, despite a lucrative offer from Saudi side Al-Hilal. The 30-year-old Portugal international is reportedly considering a proposal that could triple his salary, with Al-Hilal prepared to pay United £100 million for the playmaker.
Fernandes, who captained the Red Devils on their post-season trip to Asia, starred in their 3–1 win over Hong Kong. When asked if that might be his final appearance, Amorim replied: “I don’t think so. I don’t know for sure, nobody knows, but I don’t think so… I think he wants to stay.”
The midfielder won United’s Player of the Year award for a record-equalling fourth time after a difficult season. Amorim insists Fernandes wants to win and “needs to be in the best league in the world.” On selling him, he added, “We can find another way to earn money.”
