The APC National Executive Committee has named Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada as its new National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, as the new National Chairman of the party.

Yiltwada replaces Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who formally resigned on June 27 after mounting internal pressure.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), nominated Yiltwada during the NEC meeting held Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The nomination was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas.

With both key endorsements, Yiltwada emerged as the consensus candidate and was officially confirmed as APC chairman.

The NEC meeting was still in progress at the time of filing this report.

Yiltwada’s appointment is expected to stabilize party leadership ahead of the 2027 elections, as APC seeks to consolidate its internal structure and national dominance.
