The APC is leading in early results from the Lagos LG polls across 57 councils, with PDP and LP trailing amid low voter turnout.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading in the Lagos local government elections across the state’s 57 councils, following the close of polls at about 3 p.m.

Despite low voter turnout, early results show the APC ahead in key areas including Adeniji-Adele, Yaba, Somolu, Bariga, Ikeja, and Agege. In Adeniji-Adele Polling Unit 006—where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu cast his vote—APC maintained a strong lead.

Sanwo-Olu acknowledged delays earlier in the day, attributing them to logistical issues.

In Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), APC chairmanship candidate Adebayo Adefuye hailed the exercise as “smooth, free, and fair.” He described local elections as “one of the most important because it connects directly with the grassroots.”

Adefuye also unveiled his “Yaba tuntun” vision, promising reform and progress. He praised the Federal Government’s enforcement of local government financial autonomy, calling it a “bold step” and commending President Bola Tinubu for championing the initiative.
