The APC has scheduled its NEC meeting for July 24, 2025, to nominate a new national chairman following Ganduje’s resignation. Dalori is now serving as acting chairman.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for July 24, 2025, to appoint a new substantive national chairman.

This follows an emergency meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) held Monday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

Deputy National Secretary Festus Fuanter confirmed the development, saying, “The NEC meeting will give the party the opportunity to appoint a new substantive national chairman.”

The move comes after the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje, who led the APC from August 2023. In the interim, Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, has assumed office as acting chairman.

“I am committed to working with all party members to safeguard the unity of our party, uphold discipline, and ensure we remain focused on delivering on our mandate to Nigerians,” Dalori said.

He urged NEC members to prioritise party unity over individual ambitions and focus on strengthening internal democracy and good governance.
