Arsenal are set to face Barcelona in Saturday’s UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Lisbon, hoping to claim their second European title.

Manager Renee Slegers believes her side can overcome the odds against a dominant Barca squad.

“We want to show courage tomorrow. We respect Barca as a team. They are a really good football team, so we are humble, but we are here to win,” Slegers told reporters on Friday.

Arsenal forward Alessia Russo echoed the manager’s sentiments. “Belief is something we have spoken about a lot as a team this season… we are here to win,” she said.

Reflecting on Arsenal’s history, veteran midfielder Kim Little recalled their previous success. “It’s incredible for me to still be at the club. We came out on top,” she said of their 7–0 aggregate win over Barca in the 2012–13 season.

Barcelona are favourites to clinch their fourth Champions League title.
