Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has confirmed that Nigeria’s major political parties, including the APC, PDP, and Labour Party, are part of a coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Atiku made the disclosure in Abuja on Wednesday during a visit by stakeholders from Kogi East Senatorial District, led by former Deputy Governor Simon Achuba.

“We have a coalition. All the major political parties are involved. In this coalition — the APC, PDP, Labour Party — all of us are involved. That is the way to go in confronting such an incompetent and inefficient government,” Atiku said.

The disclosure comes amid a wave of defections from both the APC and PDP. Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and ex-Minister Solomon Dalung have aligned with the SDP, while several PDP leaders, including Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa, have defected to the APC.

The coalition, if formalised, could mark a major realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
