“How can leaders remain unmoved while their people are being slaughtered?” Atiku asked.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has announced plans to unite the APC, PDP, and Labour Party in a political alliance against President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which he labeled “incompetent and inefficient.” Speaking in Abuja to a Kogi East delegation led by ex-Deputy Governor Simon Achuba, Atiku condemned the government’s failure to tackle insecurity, recalling how decisive leadership under his tenure curbed Boko Haram in 2002.

Atiku accused Tinubu of lacking political will, citing unchecked killings and kidnappings. “How can leaders remain unmoved while their people are slaughtered? This is peak irresponsibility,” he said. He proposed recruiting jobless graduates into the police to address manpower shortages, stressing, “We are under-policed while youths roam unemployed.”

Achuba backed Atiku’s stance, lamenting the North’s worsening violence and federal neglect. Atiku declared, “We are building a coalition of all major parties to rescue Nigeria. You have my full support.” The move signals rising opposition momentum ahead of 2027.
